About the Tour:

The ASCE SunCoast Branch is excited to offer members an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) on Thursday, January 22nd. SRQ is a rapidly growing regional airport known for its efficient operations, recent terminal enhancements, and critical infrastructure that supports both commercial and general aviation along Florida’s Gulf Coast. This guided tour will provide insight into airfield operations, terminal planning, and the engineering systems that keep the airport running safely and smoothly. Please note: participation is limited to 20 attendees, so early registration is encouraged to secure your spot.

About the Speaker:

Lionel Guilbert, C.M., has over 33 years’ experience in the aviation industry and is currently Senior Vice President, Operations and Public Safety at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ). Lionel was hired by the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority in 1993 as a Noise Abatement Intern. Since then, he has held several different airport positions including Noise Abatement Technician, Operations Officer, Supervisor, Manager, and his current position as Senior Vice President, Operations and Public Safety, overseeing Airport Operations, Airport Police and Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting departments.

Lionel graduated from Everglades University with a B.S. in Aviation Technology and is a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives. Lionel also holds a Commercial Pilot’s License with Instrument and Multi-Engine Ratings.
