About the Speaker:

Jenna Phillips is a Coastal Engineer and the Associate Principal for Cummins Cederberg, a marine and coastal engineering firm. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Ocean Engineering and Master’s degree in Coastal Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology. Jenna has nearly 20 years of experience specializing in coastal and resiliency planning, coastal engineering, and waterfront design for local, state and federal clients with specific focus on resilient shorelines, adaptive management, sea level rise and storm surge modeling, nature-based living shoreline design, shoreline stabilization, and dredging.
Jenna serves as the ASCE Coasts, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institute (COPRI) Policy Committee Chair, a Board of County Commission appointed Vice Chair for the Sarasota County Coastal Advisory Board, a WEDA Education and Technical Paper Committee member, and a member of ASBPA’s Science & Technology Committee.

This presentation provides an overview of the multi-phased Sarasota County Phillippi Creek Dredging Project, highlighting detailed data collection, project planning, design, regulatory and stakeholder coordination, permitting, construction, and beneficial reuse of dredged material to improve stormwater conveyance and reduce flood risk for enhanced community resilience.
