The Bee Ridge Water Reclamation Facility is being expanded and converted to Advanced Wastewater Treatment. We will review the processes, including the influent headworks and associated equipment, including fine and coarse screens, the biological processes to reduce the nitrogen and phosphorus in the effluent, the membrane process, biosolid handling, effluent disinfection, and effluent disposal, including reclaimed water, salinity barrier wells, and deep injection wells.

Tour will be given by David Sell: Sarasota County Wastewater Senior Manager, Class A licensed wastewater treatment plant operator. 35 years of wastewater treatment plant operation experience.  22 year experience with Sarasota County Public Utilities.

The Bee Ridge WRF address is 5550 Lorraine Road. Parking will be by the old operations building (the second building on the right as you drive in)

 PPE will be required. We have safety vests and hard hats to use so you don’t need to bring them. Please wear closed-toe shoes.
